Trick Tip of
The Week
Snowboard Backside Board Slide
-
Prior to this trick you should be able to do f/s and B/S 180s as
well as board slides.
-
Come at the rail with decent speed. It helps to go a little
faster than it does slower, because it’s easier to stay
balanced. Also if you do fall you will be going fast enough to
clear the rail.
-
Ride up the jump with your knees bent. You don’t have to jump
off the jump it’s easier at first to just launch off of it so
you can prepare your body. When you come off the jump turn your
hips to face backwards so your board will do the b/s 90.
-
Keep your eyes on the rail at all times so you can spot where
you are going to make contact. As you hit the rail keep your
knees bent.
-
Also, as you are sliding keep your balance centered and don't
lean too far forward or backward because your board will come
out from under you.
-
If you know you are going to fall it is best to fall to the
side because this way it wont hurt as much.
-
Keep balanced and centered as you slide down the rail.
-
When you are about to come off it will be easier at first to
just ride off it and not jump off.
-
Turn your board back by either finishing the backside 180 or
turning it back to riding regular. Spot your landing and absorb
the shock with your knees and ride away.
